Date:
8 Jun 2011 - 14:00 - 15:00
Event Type:
Webinar
OASIS will present a one-hour webinar to explain how the Extensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML) standard can streamline security administration, enable audit and compliance, and future-proof the security of applications.

XACML is an open standard closely related to SAML. Defining a core XML schema for representing authorization and entitlement policies, XACML goes beyond simply denying or granting information access. XACML defines the mechanism for creating the rules and policy sets that enable meaningful authorization decisions.

This webinar will consist of three parts:
  1. Overview of Access Control. We’ll explain the architecture of an XACML-based system, general operation of the XACML policy language, and key features provided by the different XACML Profiles.
  2. XACML 3.0. You’ll learn about the new features in XACML 3.0 and the ways it can be used to improve performance. You’ll also get a better understanding for how XACML can leverage distributed access control management in Cloud and Federated environments.
  3. Use Cases. Where the rubber meets the road, we’ll describe how to use XACML 3.0 for solving your most complex data protection use cases.

This webinar will be of interest to security managers and application developers, enterprise architects, audit and compliance managers, end-users and procurement officers--anyone involved in evaluating access-control products.

Martin Kuppinger, Founder and Principal Analyst, of KuppingerCole will present the overview. Other speakers include representatives of the OASIS XACML Technical Committee:
  • Doron Grinstein of BitKOO
  • Hal Lockhart of Oracle
  • Erik Rissanen of Axiomatics
This webinar is free and open to all; however you must register in advance. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions for how to join the webinar.
