CableLabs Issues TV Everywhere Specs

CableLabs has quietly issued a new set of interface specs that will provide the technical foundation for how MSOs and programmers authenticate and authorize video that is distributed online. CableLabs, which started it all in the form of a request for information (RFI), published the 64-page document on October 29...The specs -- collectively dubbed Online Content Access (OLCA) -- outline an interoperable protocol and architecture for the delivery of video to a multichannel video programming distributor (MVPD) customer from different online sources.

Lasso - Liberty Alliance Single Sign-On

Lasso is a free software C library implementing the Liberty Alliance and SAML standards (ID-FF, SAMLv2, ID-WSF); it defines processes for federated identities, single sign-on and related protocols, and is used to bring digital identity features to web sites and applications. Lasso passed both ID-FF 1.2 and SAMLv2 Liberty interoperability tests.

Lasso comes with native language support for Java, Perl, Python and PHP.
